Today’s Projects (11-06-10)

  • My Husband’s Project:
This is my daughter’s dresser. (I'm terrible at taking before pictures >_<) Before we stripped the paint off it was an ugly off white with copper’ish trim. Our girl’s room is going to be brown, green and pink.
This is the dresser with the first coat of light green:

After he painted the dress with the light green he brushed a dark stain over the entire thing. Then immediately he rubbed it off with a rag.

The finished product.

We are waiting for it to dry, then we will install the hardware.
  • My Project:
This project was to make my own baby book for my newest daughter. With my first daughter we bought one and it was about $30. This time around i wanted to get crafty and not spend as much.
So i found an ugly photo album for $5. Bought fabric for $2, and the rest of the supplies i had on hand.
Ok i had originally covered this photo album with material by use a hot melt glue gun… and it looked like crap and i was so annoyed. Then i got an idea that made me feel stupid. Why did i not sew a cover? Yah… I'm not to smart for not coming up with that in the first place!
So today i finally got it done!

The pages i  designed myself using digital scrapbook images and some creativity. I really like how it turned out

Today i also taped off our living room to prime. I had wanted to paint today but my hubby thought it would be best to tape everything off, get all the nails out of the wall and wait to paint until tomorrow. So i listened to him. Kind of surprising he is the one to tell me to take it slow because usually it is the other way around.
